Honey Glazed Easter Ham

Ingredients: Serves 10-12

  • For the Ham:
    • 1 (8-10 lb) bone-in ham (pre-cooked)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for rubbing)
  • For the Honey Glaze:
    • 1 cup honey
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
    • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
    • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • Fresh rosemary (garnish)
    • 2 large oranges (garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ham:
    • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
    • Place the ham on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Rub the ham with olive oil to help it get a nice golden crust.
    • Score the ham by making shallow cuts in a crisscross pattern across the surface. This will help the glaze soak in and give it a nice presentation.
  2. Make the Glaze:
    • In a saucepan, combine the honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, salt, and black pepper.
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a simmer. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes, until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Glaze the Ham:
    • Brush the ham with the glaze, making sure to cover all of the surface.
    • Place the ham in the preheated oven and roast for about 15 minutes per pound, basting every 30 minutes with more of the glaze.
    • Continue roasting until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
  4. Finish and Serve:
    • Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve with any remaining glaze on the side for extra sweetness.
    • Garnish with fresh cut orange halves and fresh rosemary.

This dish will definitely be the star of your Easter dinner! Enjoy the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with every slice.
